To illustrate how to count in gay lingo, read the lyrics of the folk song called Tagu-taguan (hide and seek). This is sung by the ‘it’ to give the other players time to hide. As kids, my playmates and I used to sing the Filipino or original version whenever we play hide and seek, and we even count up to 20, depending on how big our play field was and how difficult it was to find a good hiding spot.
The gay version of the song is taken from an episode of Bubble Gang, a long-running local gag show.
