“Don’t hire ‘third sex’ or else” – Saudi Arabia Embassy to Philippine recruitment agencies

In a recent memorandum circulated to accredited recruitment agencies in the Philippines, the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia explicitly instructed the companies to thoroughly screen work applicants to exclude lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders (LGBTs), or else they will be permanently discredited by the embassy.

The International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC) and Lambda Legal are working with Nepali government leaders as they explore how to include protections for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people in the country’s laws, following the Supreme Court ruling that directed Nepal’s Parliament to stop discrimination to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people in 1997.

Taiwan holds Asia’s largest gay Pride March – CarnalNation.com

After staging the country’s first gay pride march in 2003 with an estimated 500 participants, Taiwan is breaking records in Asia after successfully holding a gay pride march dubbed “Love Out Loud! The Power of Love Conquers Discrimination” with 25,000 reported participants last October 31, 2009, according to CarnalNation.com.
